Nature:
It is a light yellow crystal or powder, which is slightly soluble in water and easily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether and acetone. It has two functional groups, a hydroxyl group and an amine group, and also contains a nitro group. Its chemical nature is active, easy to be reduced and oxidized.
Use:
It is widely used in the dye industry and can be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of dyes. In addition, it can also be used as a reagent and catalyst in organic synthesis.
Method:
Synthesize can use phenol as the starting material, through the nitration reaction and the action of hydroxypropylamine, and then through the steps of acid-base neutralization and crystallization to obtain the target product.
Safety Information:
It has a certain degree of toxicity and may cause irritation and damage to the human body. During use or handling, avoid contact with skin, eyes and respiratory tract, pay attention to protective measures, and avoid inhalation and ingestion.
